The CME assessments results make it possible to calculate the current level of motor-postural performance
of the child related to the chronological age, which is significant for the prognosis, only during the first 2 years
of life.

To obtain the motor maturity level, it is necessary to find the sum of the score assigned to each item and divide the total amount by the factor 7.6, and the final figure will represent the age level of motor-functional maturity
of the child at the time of the initial evaluation.

The first version of the motor test was composed of 86 items to explore the motor developmental evolution from 3 to 16 months of age, which is the standard period within which the child becomes able to control primary motor-postural functions such as sitting, standing and independent walking.  The present the test has gradually been simplified to 41 items to measure motor development from the neonatal period until reaching independent walking.
